Primary handwriting paper draws a solid headline, a dashed midline, and a solid baseline, with a blank gap under the baseline for descenders, at a rule height of 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch, or 1 inch. Graph paper fills the sheet with 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch, or 1 inch squares and a heavier line every inch. Turn on the name line to add Name and Date at the top, then print at actual size so the spacing matches a ruler.

Wide ruled lines sit 11/32 inch apart, about 8.7 millimeters, and college ruled lines sit 9/32 inch apart, about 7.1 millimeters. Narrow ruled lines sit 1/4 inch apart, or 6.35 millimeters. All three are blue lines across a US Letter page with a red margin 1.25 inches from the left edge. Primary handwriting paper uses a different row: a solid headline, a dashed midline halfway down, and a solid baseline, plus a blank gap under the baseline that is half the rule height. That rule can be 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch, or 1 inch. The page is blank, so the writer fills the lines.
Graph paper prints complete squares at 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch, or 1 inch, with a heavier line every inch. The name line adds Name and Date at the top and moves the writing area down. The screen shows one letter page. Print paper opens that page on its own. Set the printer to actual size, or 100 percent, so a ruler matches the spacing. The lines stay inside a half-inch margin so they can print on a home printer.

How do I print the lines at the right size?
Press Print paper, then set the scale to actual size or 100 percent. Fit to page shrinks the sheet, and the spacing will no longer match a ruler. The screen preview is one US Letter page, and the print window is that same page. If the window does not open, allow pop-ups and try again.
