This elapsed time calculator is a time duration calculator for a start time and an end time, and a time difference calculator for two dates. Pick the hour, the minute, and AM or PM for each clock time to see the span in hours and minutes, plus the total minutes. If the end time is earlier than the start, the count crosses midnight and treats the end as the next day. The dates mode reports the time between dates as whole days from the start date up to but not including the end date, and it also splits that count into weeks and leftover days.

Clock mode takes a start time and an end time as an hour, a minute, and AM or PM. The duration shows in hours and minutes, and again as total minutes. From 9:30 AM to 2:15 PM is 4 hours 45 minutes. If the end time is earlier than the start, the count crosses midnight: 11:00 PM to 1:30 AM is 2 hours 30 minutes on the next day.
Dates mode takes two calendar dates and counts the days from the start date up to but not including the end date. That same count is also split into weeks and leftover days, so 14 days reads as 2 weeks and 0 days. The result updates as you change either time or either date.

How do I find the hours and minutes between two times?
Choose Clock, then set the start hour, minute, and AM or PM, and do the same for the end time. The duration appears in hours and minutes, with the same span written as total minutes. 9:30 AM to 2:15 PM is 4 hours 45 minutes, which is 285 minutes.
What if the end time is earlier than the start time?
The calculator treats the end time as the next day. 11:00 PM to 1:30 AM is 2 hours 30 minutes, or 150 minutes, and the result says it counts the next day. The same clock time for start and end is 0 hours 0 minutes on the same day.
How are the days between two dates counted?
The day count runs from the start date up to but not including the end date. January 1 to January 15 is 14 days. A count that also included the end date would be one day more. If the end date is earlier, the result says so and counts in the other direction the same way.
How do weeks and leftover days work?
The day count is split by 7. 14 days is 2 weeks and 0 days. 10 days is 1 week and 3 days. A span shorter than a week is 0 weeks plus the leftover days, such as 0 weeks and 5 days.
