Section scores on the SAT scale and the ACT scale
The Digital SAT total is the sum of two section scores. College Board's Fall 2026 score report lists Reading and Writing from 200 to 800, Math from 200 to 800, and a total from 400 to 1600 equal to that sum. Reported section scores use steps of 10. Enter the two section scores you already have. A Reading and Writing score of 640 and a Math score of 710 add to 1350. Each section is marked in range or out of range, and a score outside 200 to 800, or off the step of 10, is turned away so it cannot be added. College Board turns a raw count of correct answers into those section scores with equating that depends on the form, so this SAT score calculator has no raw-score chart to apply.
The enhanced ACT composite is the mean of English, Math, and Reading. ACT rounds that average to the nearest whole number: a fraction below one-half rounds down, and a fraction of one-half or more rounds up. Each section runs from 1 to 36. Science is optional on the enhanced test and does not change the composite. If you enter a science score from 1 to 36, the page also shows a STEM score, the same kind of rounded mean of Math and Science, kept apart from the composite. ACT uses this three-section composite for online national testing from April 2025 and for all administrations from September 2025. A legacy composite from before that change averaged English, Math, Reading, and Science. This calculator uses the enhanced three-section composite.

How is an ACT composite score calculated?
On the enhanced ACT, the composite is the average of English, Math, and Reading, rounded to the nearest whole number. A fraction smaller than one-half rounds down, and a fraction of one-half or more rounds up. Science is optional and stays out of the composite. ACT uses this rule for online national tests starting in April 2025 and for every administration starting in September 2025. English 24, Math 27, and Reading 26 average to 25 and 2/3, which rounds to 26. Each section runs from 1 to 36.
Can I enter the number of questions I got right?
Enter the section scores after they have been scaled. A raw count of correct answers becomes a section score through equating that changes with the test form. This page does not include a raw-to-scale chart for the SAT or the ACT.
